Bio

The Sharar Sisters have long had a musical presence in the New York City Tri-State area, as well as in New England and beyond.  Over the years they’ve shared stages with folk luminaries like Pete Seeger, John Gorka, Dar Williams and Ellis Paul, in concerts and at festivals like the Falcon Ridge and Black Potatoe Music Festivals.

Each of the sisters maintains an individual career in music, but when they all come together there is an amazing blend of sibling harmony, camaraderie and humor that takes the musical experience to another level.

Sister Linda - Singer/Songwriter

Linda Sharar started out in her early 20s at open mikes around NYC and Jack Hardy's Fast Folk songwriting meetings.  In that time-frame, she and her sisters joined Gregg Cagno, Christian Bauman and others to make a name for themselves as the Camp Hoboken collaborative. Members of this group performed and toured through most of the eastern and southern US.  After moving to Boston, Linda started to gain individual recognition for co-producing and contributing a track to the acclaimed RESPOND compilation, with a nod to Linda's song "Any Kind of Love" from Billboard Magazine editor Timothy White.  A Kerrville Folk Festival New Folk finalist, she has produced three albums, while touring and playing around Boston's esteemed folk scene (Club Passim, Me & Thee, New Moon, Nameless etc.). It's safe to say that over the years, Linda has become embedded in the singer/songwriter community as an artist, booking agent, show producer and songwriting colleague/friend to many.  Interview with Linda
